AQUA-CULTURA SOSTENIBLE
About Aqua-Cultura Sostenible
Dedicated to Advancing Sustainable Aquaculture
With a Focus on Community Engagement
Our organization promotes sustainable aquaculture practices that use a scientific background while maintaining traditions and meeting regional needs. Every initiative in Aqua-Cultura Sostenible requires community involvement, and prioritizes women's contributions and leadership.
What We Do
Edible Biofilter: Our Featured Initiative
We focus on the community design of innovative biofilters to transform aquaculture wastewater into a resource, removing pollutants through the cultivation of native halophytes. These plants not only purify water but also hold great potential for commercialization and self-sustainability, driving environmental and economic impact.
Integrated Aquaculture
The simultaneous cultivation of species, where waste from one serves as nutrients for another. A synergy that enhances resource efficiency, promotes nutrient cycling, and links aquaculture with other productive activities.
Women Participation and Leadership
The adoption of sustainable aquaculture technologies relies on active community involvement at every stage—from formulation to design and decision-making. Women’s leadership is central to this process, as their contributions are key to fostering innovation, strengthening community resilience, driving equitable progress, and preserving cultural heritage.
Our Mission
At Aqua-Cultura Sostenible, we are dedicated to revolutionizing sustainable living practices. Through innovation and collaboration, we aim to inspire individuals and communities to embrace eco-friendly solutions for a better future.
